August 2024 Newsletter

Dear Brothers, Sisters and Volunteers :

“The LORD   is   good   unto them that wait   for him, to the soul   that   seeketh  him.”   (Lamentations 3:25)

Praise the Lord for His guidance! The Hong Kong Bible Conference was successfully held for 10 consecutive days. CMVIP used video conferencing software to enable the visually impaired to listen to the spiritual services through fixed line telephones. Forty-one people signed up for CMVIP to arrange the programme and scriptures. On average, 11 visually impaired people participated in each session through the CMVIP system, making a total of 41 people using the CMVIP service in 10 days and 28 occasions. We thank the Lord for allowing us to use modern technology to help the needy visually impaired to listen to the words of our Heavenly Father and to grow in the Spirit together.

The 2024 Summer Camp with Ebenezer was successfully held from 12 to 14 July. Thanks to God’s protection and guidance, the participants enjoyed a wonderful time together. Whether it was the outings or the sharing during the gathering, we were all satisfied in body, mind and soul. We look forward to meeting again next year and counting the riches of our Lord’s grace together.

CMVIP originally had two seated braille printers, and the IMPATO 600, which had been in use for 20 years, suddenly broke down half a year ago, and many attempts had been made to repair it, but without success, and even the parts had been discontinued for many years. CMVIP now has only one braille printer and has to print a large number of braille books and magazines, which puts an enormous load and strain on the braille printer, so it is necessary to purchase a new seated braille printer. Since the braille printing machine is a special machine, two distributors have quoted a price of about $180,000 for a braille printing machine. We would like to ask for the support of our brothers and sisters. Your participation would be a great encouragement and support to the visually impaired.

Ministry needs and remembrance in Prayer:

  1. Please pray for the preparations for the 45th anniversary celebrations. Pray that the Lord would strengthen our faith and teach us the lesson of dependence.
  2. Please pray for the installation of fire sprinkler system and renovation of the centre.
  3. Please pray for the fund raising for the printing machine and the renovation of CMVIP. Pray that our Heavenly Father will move our brothers and sisters to give lovingly to us.
  4. We will continue to have Mid-Autumn Festival visits in September. Our co-workers at CMVIP will join hands with the visually impaired volunteers to care for the singletons, the elderly and the needy visually impaired. We hope that our co-workers can share God’s love with the elderly during the festive season and that God will use all of us to be His vessels of blessing. CMVIP will arrange to send some small gifts to them, such as noodles, fruits, biscuits and simple daily necessities, in the hope of spreading the love of Christ through these small gestures. If you are moved, you can make a donation to support us in purchasing suitable items for our Mid-Autumn Giving Programme.
