Braille and Audiobook Production
The CMVIP enables visually impaired individuals to access a wide range of spiritual publications through its Braille and audio production services.
Scope of Production:
The materials produced include Bibles, hymnals, spiritual literature, devotional readings, course notes, gospel tracts, booklets, Christian newspapers, magazines, and other related publications.
Production Process:
Braille books and publications are produced through close collaboration between visually impaired and sighted co‑workers and volunteers. Using computer systems, materials are scanned, proofread, and typeset, after which they are printed and bound with a double‑sided Braille copier to create high‑quality Braille publications.
For audiobook production, visually impaired staff work together with volunteers in the recording studio. Volunteers may also record materials outside the studio in suitable environments using computers or smartphones. These recordings are then edited by visually impaired audio editors to produce completed audiobook publications.
As technology continues to advance rapidly, CMVIP began adopting a new approach in 2025 by incorporating text‑to‑speech services into its audiobook production process. This enhancement aims to increase production capacity and better meet growing demand.
