Dear Brothers, Sisters and Volunteers:

「”Trust in the LORD with all your heart,

and lean not on your own wisdom; in all your ways acknowledge him,

and he shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5- 6)

The CMVIP has entered its 45th anniversary since its establishment in 1979, of which the address at Tung Hoi House, Tai Hang Tung, Shek Kip Mei has also been in operation for 36 years. In December 2023, CMVIP was notified by the Hong Kong Housing Authority’s outsourcing company that fire hoses would be installed in Tai Hang Tung Estate and that a sprinkler system would be installed inside our centre. After the company’s staff made a preliminary observation at the centre, it was confirmed that most of the false ceilings would need to be dismantled . The Engineering Department of the Housing Department informed that the installation of the sprinkler system would take about 6 months. 6 months was only the estimated time for the installation of the sprinkler system, and complete the restoration and renovation of CMVIP, which was estimated to take another 3-4 months to complete.

Over the years, the visually impaired members of CMVIP have been visiting the centre regularly to attend weekly gatherings or to collect Braille publications. In the past 30 years or so since the incorporation of Tung Hoi Building, there has not been any major maintenance work, if any, it is only minor maintenance. Therefore, this is a very large-scale maintenance and renovation for CMVIP, please pray for us!

All along, CMVIP has been walking side by side with the volunteers to walk the path of heaven, serving the visually impaired with the love of Christ for many years, and bringing positive impact to the whole Hong Kong community. CMVIP is going to organize an annual training for volunteers with the aim of providing them with knowledge in assisting the visually impaired, skills in visiting, caring and counseling, as well as an introduction to the work of volunteers in the production ministry.

Ministry needs and prayers:

1.Please pray for the preparation of the 45th Anniversary Celebration, and hopefully in the near future we will be able to confirm the dates and locations of the various events so that everyone can reserve time to participate.

2.Please pray for the installation of fire sprinkler system and major repairs for CMVIP. Whether it is the cooperation with the outsourcing company of the Hong Kong Housing Authority , or looking for an engineering company to renovate and finding a place to use as a temporary office, it will require a lot of funds, please pray for the Lord’s guidance.。

3.Please pray that the volunteer training could help provide volunteers with the support and preparation they need to feel more confident and able to participate in the ministry of CMVIP.

4.Please continue to pray for CMVIP’s operating expenses. At present, CMVIP has a deficit of $220,000. Pray that the Lord will move brothers and sisters to see the needs of CMVIP.
