Dear Ministry Colleagues, Brothers, Sisters and Volunteers,

「As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.」 (1Peter 4:10)

Praise the Lord for His guidance! The 10-day Hong Kong Bible Conference has come to a successful close. To enable visually impaired brothers and sisters to consume spiritual food barrier-free, CMVIP specially utilized video conferencing software, allowing everyone to easily tune in via landline phones or computers. During this period, CMVIP arranged and provided a total of 386 Braille text document copies of the programs and scriptures. Over the ten days, an average of 20 visually impaired participants joined each session directly through CMVIP’s system. Furthermore, many brothers and sisters accessed YouTube independently using the daily links provided by us, bringing the total service usage to 470 people. Praise God for the gift of modern technology, enabling visually impaired brothers and sisters to transcend physical limitations and hear the Word of Our Heavenly Father. May we all grow in the Spirit together!

The July session of the CMVI Academy on the theme “From the Dead Sea to the Sea of Galilee.” Pastor Wong specially designed three tactile maps—covering the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee, and the coastal geography connecting the two places, to give visually impaired participants a more concrete understanding of the biblical landscape. One visually impaired member shared that these auxiliary maps greatly enhanced the learning experience. Though the Jordan River appeared small on the map, it evoked powerful images of God’s miracles, such as Commander Naaman washing seven times in the water to be healed. This map-integrated teaching approach brought biblical stories to life with greater and vividness, allowing visually impaired individuals to understand much more clearly when reading Scripture in the future. In closing, the member expressed deep gratitude for Pastor Wong’s heart and effort in tailoring the course for the visually impaired, giving thanks to God for such a rewarding experience.

For a long time, a group of dedicated visually impaired volunteers has been silently serving at CMVIP, helping produce Braille books and audiobooks. However, the computer currently used by the production department for these volunteers is still running on a DOS system, which can no longer handle today’s heavy workload and software demands. Furthermore, the accompanying refreshable Braille display has broken down and urgently needs to be replaced. The cost of a new computer set along with a Braille display is currently around HK$30,000. We pray that the Lord moves more brothers and sisters to respond with loving donations, serving as a strong backing and encouragement for these visually impaired volunteers on their journey of service.

Ministry Needs and Prayers:

  1. It has been raining frequently lately. May the Lord grant everyone safe steps as they go about their daily routines, watching over the elderly and members with mobility challenges. We also pray for good health—may God protect everyone from falling ill in this rainy and humid weather, granting peace and joy in both body and mind!
  2. Thank God! Nearly 40 participants enjoyed a fruitful and enriching time together at the Summer Camp from July 17 to 19. May spiritual nourishment and inspiration gain during the camp continue to resonate in our hearts, serving as daily motivation to live in closer alignment with our Heavenly Father’s heart!
  3. We pray that the Lord moves more churches, brothers, sisters, and caring individuals to pay attention to ministry for the visually impaired and generously support it through loving donations. May God also grant wisdom to the Center’s staff to use every offering wisely and be faithful stewards of God.
