July 2026 News Letter

Dear Ministry Colleagues, Brothers, Sisters and Volunteers,

「Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.」(Psalm 119:105)

Since 2001, the Christian Ministry to Visually Impaired Persons (CMVIP) has co-organized the “Spiritual Light Project” Biblical Study Programme with the Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary. This program includes the “Distance Certificate Course in Old and New Testament Studies” and the “Distance Diploma Course in Biblical Studies.” Praise to the Lord, over the years we have witnessed more than twenty visually impaired brothers and sisters overcome numerous difficulties to successfully complete the “Distance Certificate Course.” Students currently enrolled in the “Distance Diploma Course” have persevered through a long journey of six years, successfully completing three-quarters of their studies. They are now pressing on toward the final goal.

However, visually impaired students often have to dedicate double the time and effort during their learning process. Unlike sighted individuals, they cannot quickly flip through reference materials or cross-reference scriptures. Instead, they must listen and comprehend the lessons with intense concentration, overcome reading barriers using Braille or large print, and laboriously complete their assignments in text files. This is an endurance race of physical, mental, and spiritual strength, requiring several times the time and effort of an ordinary person. May the Lord continue to use the partnership between CMVIP and the Baptist Theological Seminary to remove all technological and resource limitations. We pray that the Lord will move more visually impaired believers who aspire to advance their studies to courageously enroll, break through their physical limitations, and become good soldiers for Christ.

Ministry Needs and Prayers:

  1. Prayer for “Spiritual Light Project” Students: May the Holy Spirit personally be their teacher, granting them double the wisdom and patience. Even within the limitations of looking up reference materials, may they still deeply comprehend the mysteries of God’s word and engrave the truth upon their hearts.
  2. Prayer for the new course in July: “From the Dead Sea to the Sea of Galilee,” taught by Rev Wang Pei-Kei. May the Lord use this course to lead our visually impaired members to witness God’s wondrous creation and the faithfulness of His people。
  3. Prayer for the EEIII students: Thanks be to the Lord, the students taking the first stage of the EEIII training will graduate at the end of July! The training and memorization in EEIII are highly challenging; please pray that the Lord continues to grant these students a resilient heart and steadfast perseverance. We earnestly pray that this graduation marks a new beginning for them to work for the Lord and spread the Gospel widely, igniting a lifelong passion for evangelism to lead others to Christ.
  4. Prayer for the Hong Kong Bible Conference Ministry: Please remember CMVIP is responsible for broadcasting services for visually impaired, Braille program proofreading, and Braille printing work for the Hong Kong Bible Conference from August 1st to 10th. May the Lord grant heavenly wisdom and sufficient manpower, and smooth out all broadcasting technologies and Braille publishing processes. This will allow our visually impaired brothers and sisters to synchronously participate in this annual spiritual feast through CMVIP’s broadcasting network and have their lives built up!
  5. Prayer for Staff Health: Recently, there have been many germs circulating in the community. Combined with the hot weather and frequent movement in and out of air-conditioned places, it is very easy to catch a cold or feel unwell. May the Lord specially protect our staff’s immunity from illness. For any staff members who are currently unwell, we pray for the Lord’s healing grace to grant them full recovery and abundant vitality.
